Whales 30 June, 2009   Leave a comment

After the last few days fantastic sightings, today felt like a real let down.  The whales were there but every time you saw one blow, that was all you saw, the blow. The whales had an incredible amount of down time today, making sightings a little disappointing.

In the backs of everyone’s mind was the thought that Migaloo could be entering our waters very soon. There has been rumours and talk of sightings but nothing was confirmed until later today. There has now been 2 confirmed sightings of Migaloo off Port Stephens on Saturday 27th June at 3.30pm, then again at Port Macquarie on Sunday 2pm. At the rate he travels, he is expected to pass the Gold Coast waters around 3am on the 1st July.

I am going out on the boat in the morning and I am going to remain optimistic that we may still catch a glimpse of this majestic, all white whale.
