Whales 16 June 2009   2 comments

It seems forever since I have added any photo’s to my site but I have to be honest and say that although I have been out a number of times and the sightings have been plentiful,  I am finding the whales to be a little quiet. Well I guess after the year we had last year and the amazing encounters we had, I have learnt what to take photo’s of and what not too.

Today we came across 2 pods both with 2 mature whales in each. One of the pods was travelling at less than 1 knot so obviously was not in a hurry to go anywhere. We joked at the time and said they would most probably be in the same place tomorrow. It was nice to get close to them even if they weren’t putting on a show. Watching these enormous but graceful creatures is definitely something everyone should do at least once in their lives.
