Whales September 9   Leave a comment

Wind blowing, choppy and rough conditions made it a hard day for photos today. And when you had 2 juvenile Humpbacks putting on a mammoth display, it was disappointing to miss so many shots. What I discovered from shooting into the wind was that my  auto focus was struggling, most probably because I couldn’t hold the camera still enough, so not only was I completeing with that but also the rough conditions and the boat being tossed around.
These two whales were having a fantastic time. It was continuous breeching and chin slapping for at least 40 minutes. What I didn’t get on camera will stay with me forever. An absolutely awesome sight and something that I have not witnessed before. For those on board Spirit who have never seen a whale, they saw the best of the best today.
